Bulgaria is more than just the Black Sea coast and its capital – it also boasts stunning mountain landscapes. In the Pirin, Rila, and Rhodope regions, you'll find ideal conditions for hiking and climbing. The best part: The trails are not overcrowded, allowing you to enjoy nature in peace.

Varna combines a beach holiday with cultural experiences and offers a deep insight into the Bulgarian way of life. If you're interested in sightseeing, you'll find Roman baths and the Cathedral of the Holy Virgin Mary in Varna. For rainy days, the Archaeological Museum is a perfect change of pace. 

Close to the Rila Monastery, a chairlift takes you to the seven Rila Lakes, which you can hike around in several hours. Fresh mountain air, breathtaking views and unspoilt nature await you there. Another highlight: a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Rila Monastery after your tour.

In the north-west of Bulgaria lies Belogradchik, the ‘White Castle’ - an impressive rock formation of around 200 limestone towers. Their bizarre shapes stimulate the imagination. A highlight: the fortress built into the rocks, the remains of which you can explore on an excursion.

Away from the coast, unspoilt nature awaits you in the Pirin Mountains. The dense mountain forests of the nature park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, invite you to go hiking. In winter, a nearby ski resort with perfect pistes beckons.

Near the village of Devetaki, nature has crafted an impressive cave landscape in the mountains. These caves, towering dozens of metres high, allow light to filter in through large openings. Archaeologists have discovered that people inhabited this almost magical place over 70,000 years ago. 

Golden Sands is the most famous beach in Bulgaria. Here you can swim, snorkel, or bathe in the crystal-clear water. For more action, there are plenty of opportunities to hire a jet ski or try parasailing. At night, the parties kick off.

Sunny Beach is almost directly adjacent to Golden Sands. It offers perfect conditions for sunbathing or a quick dip in the refreshing, clear, deep blue waters of the Black Sea. This gently sloping beach is a bit quieter than Golden Sands, making it ideal for a family holiday by the sea. 

This beach combines a gorgeous sandy stretch with the historic backdrop of Sozopol. The fine sand and clear water create an immediate holiday atmosphere. You'll find many restaurants and bars along the beach promenade, perfect for a meal or a refreshing drink or ice cream.

A bit further away, Duni beach is also on the Black Sea coast. With a gently sloping shore is perfect for small children to paddle in and the wide sections of beach offer ample space for peaceful sunbathing.
