Holidays in Grenada

Grenada is a stunning island nation nestled in the Caribbean Sea, a true dream destination far removed from the hustle and bustle of crowded tourist spots. Though smaller than the Isle of Wight, the island offers an abundance of idyllic natural scenery and fascinating attractions.

Experience Grenada: fun, flavour, and endless sunshine

Grenada offers warm hospitality, a relaxed vibe, and abundant sunshine. It’s a fantastic destination to unwind and escape everyday stress. At historic forts like Fort George and Fort Frederick, you can enjoy stunning views and dive into the island’s past. Visit the Dougladston Estate spice plantation and River Antoine rum distillery to learn about local produce. The botanical Bay Garden will amaze you with its diverse plant life. And where else can you pick fresh fruit like papayas, coconuts, and guavas straight from the trees? Even along the roadside, you’ll find delicious tropical fruits.

Destinations for your Grenada holiday

Grenada is easy to explore from any starting point, thanks to its manageable size. Here are some great options for starting your adventures:

Saint George’s

Saint George’s, Grenada’s capital, is one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful harbour towns. Its picturesque views, colourful colonial buildings, and laid-back atmosphere make it unique. It’s no wonder most hotels in Grenada are located here.

Grand Anse

Close to Saint George’s, Grand Anse is a popular choice for travellers due to its proximity to the capital and its location right on the stunning Grand Anse Beach.

Carriacou

Known as the “Island of Reefs,” Carriacou is just a short trip from Grenada, either by a 90-minute ferry ride or a 20-minute flight. Expect charming beaches, traditional festivals, and some of the world’s best diving spots.

Gouyave

Gouyave, the island’s second-largest town, is famous for its lively atmosphere. Known as the fishing village that never sleeps, it draws visitors with its charm. Don’t miss the weekly Fish Friday Festival, where you can enjoy local cuisine and experience traditional Caribbean life.

The best time to visit Grenada

Grenada’s temperatures range from 24°C to 30°C year-round. The best time to visit is during the dry season from December to May when you can enjoy warm and sunny weather. The rainy season runs from June to November. Although it’s warm enough for swimming during hurricane season, the risk of rain is highest in September and October.

What to do in Grenada?

When thinking of Grenada, you might picture towering palms, bright blue skies, and turquoise waters. But the following activities show that Grenada has so much more to offer:

Hike in Levera National Park

Levera National Park in St. Patrick boasts lagoons, mangroves, and secluded beaches with coral reefs. Explore the breathtaking landscapes along well-maintained trails around the large lake, where you can appreciate the park's tranquillity and beauty.

No visit to Grenada is complete without seeing its impressive waterfalls. Just 20 minutes from St. George’s, the Annandale Waterfalls flow into a natural, refreshing pool that’s deep enough for a swim. Surrounded by lush flora, it’s a must-visit spot for nature lovers and water enthusiasts.
