Recommended destinations for your Jamaican holiday

This Caribbean gem is always worth a visit. If you're after the perfect holiday, Jamaica offers a variety of incredible destinations.

Negril - a holiday at one of the world’s most beautiful beaches

Seven Mile Beach in Negril is one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in the world. The sea and the finest sandy beach in all its facets await you for swimming, snorkelling or diving. You can also visit Rick's Café, where you can watch cliff divers perform their adventurous jumps.

Dunn's River Falls - Stunning Waterfalls

Near Ocho Rios, explore one of Jamaica’s natural wonders, Dunn’s River Falls. Water cascades down 180 metres over terraced steps. Climbing these terraces and swimming in the clear pools is an unforgettable experience.

Blue Mountains - home of the famous coffee

Spectacular landscapes - the highest peak, Blue Mountain Peak, soars over 2,250 metres (7,402 ft) above lush green hills. Enjoy exciting hiking tours, breathtaking views, and discover the home of the renowned Blue Mountain Coffee.

Kingston - the cultural centre of Jamaica

The epicentre of Jamaican music is Kingston, the island's cultural hotspot. Immerse yourself in the music scene and visit the Bob Marley Museum. The Devon House Mansion, Emancipation Park and the National Gallery of Jamaica are also worth a visit. Experience local life at the city's markets.

When is the best time to visit Jamaica?

The dry season from December to April is the best time for most travellers to visit Jamaica. During these months, the weather is mainly dry, with temperatures ranging between 25°C and 30°C. It's perfect for both beach lounging and outdoor activities, offering warm yet comfortable conditions.

If you want to have the island more to yourself, the off-season from May to November is ideal. Although temperatures are higher, the air is more humid, and it rains more frequently. However, you benefit from even lusher nature and fewer tourists. Do keep in mind that the off-season also coincides with hurricane season. While Jamaica has not been as severely affected by hurricanes as other Caribbean islands, the hurricane season can still bring strong storms to the homeland of reggae.

What can I do in Jamaica?

Most holidaymakers first think of reggae music and Bob Marley when they think of Jamaica. This is important because you'll hear these laid-back beats throughout your holiday, whether you’re on the beach, shopping, or dining in restaurants. But Jamaica has so much more to offer:

Dive and snorkel at the coral reefs

Jamaica is surrounded by coral reefs that are home to an incredible variety of marine life. The reefs off the coast of Jamaica, e.g. near Montego Bay or Ocho Rios, are teeming with colourful tropical fish, turtles, sharks and colourful corals. You can also dive in the Blue Lagoon.

Hike in the Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are Jamaica’s highest mountain range, with peaks soaring over 2,000 metres (6,562 ft) above sea level. The numerous hiking trails offer breathtaking views of an endless "green sea" of rainforest. Also marvel at the blue hole waterfalls

Dive into Bob Marley's life

The Bob Marley Museum is dedicated to the life of the legendary reggae singer. It can tell you a lot about the most famous Jamaican. Explore Bob Marley's house and learn more about his influence on Jamaican culture. Visit Bob Marley's birthplace and his grave in Nine Miles.

Caribbean magic: the most beautiful beaches in Jamaica

For holidaymakers, Jamaica is especially popular for its laid-back beach life. The island offers a variety of options for a perfect beach holiday. Here are Jamaica’s top beaches.

Negril Seven Mile Beach - a dream with white sand

Experience that Caribbean feeling on Seven Mile Beach in Negril. The snow-white sand combined with the turquoise blue water and the palm trees in the background create a perfect natural backdrop where you can swim or snorkel in the pleasantly warm water.

Doctor's Cave Beach

In Montego Bay, Doctor's Beach is the perfect place to relax on the white, fine sandy beach. Whether swimming, snorkelling, splashing around or diving, everything that makes a day by the sea perfect is possible here. Some say that the crystal-clear water on the beach has a healing effect.

Boston Bay Beach - the surfer's paradise

Spend a typical Jamaican beach day. The big waves create perfect conditions for surfing. At the same time, typical jerk food is on offer at the local food stalls. Fortify yourself with tasty snacks in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the sunset in the evening.

James Bond Beach - for cliff divers

In the northeast near Ocho Rios, the coast turns spectacular with rugged cliffs jutting into the sea. At James Bond Beach, you can swim in the Caribbean waters and watch cliff divers daringly leap from the rocks. Will you dare to take the plunge too?
